Nottingham Squash Rackets Club Exhibition and Open Day
The aim of the evening was to provide a taste of what the game of racketball had to offer. The idea was to have a couple of courts available for free play and that there would be a coach looking after each court letting people know the rules and hopefully giving some useful tips. The evening would then finish with an exhibition between Laura Hill (5 times National Racketball Champion) and myself (Mark Fuller, local racketball coach) to show how the game can be played and to hopefully get everyone to come down to the beginners and intermediate coaching courses that would be starting the very next week.
The turnout for the evening was good with lots of people having their first taste of racketball. We had lots of non members who had never been to the squash club before, several of which originally found out about the club and racketball from our big market square promotion the week before.
Everyone really enjoyed the racket Everyone was really impressed with the facilities and the atmosphere of the club so hopefully we have found some new members. Just for the record I also got my own back on Laura in the exhibition coming out on top in a close 2-1.
