Power - 8.5 Control - 9 Touch/Feel - 9This racket of choice for power play delivered through a head light balance and pro player frame weight. Utilises an extra stiff specification which, combined with Aerogel 4D technology, provides a solid foundation for controlled power.
Aerogel and 4D Technology are incorporated into this racket
Aerogel is the worlds lightest solid and as a material it has an incredible strength of up to 4000 times its own weight! This allows the Dunlop Aerogel Range to deliver enhanced stiffness and increased power without increasing weight.
4D Braided
The 4D braided material is constructed from carbon fibres orientated in four directions resulting in improved fibre distribution therefore optimising the tensile properties of the frame.
The multi-directional fibres are strategically placed in the 5 and 7 o’clock positions ensuring that torsion (twisting) is minimised at ball impact. This noticeably improves the stability of the racket head to enhance overall racket control.
The direction of the fibres also allows the racket to deflect in the direction of impact which is vital for improved touch and feel whilst improving frame stability for enhance control.
Power-Ridge technology
reinforces the racket throat area to deliver increased stiffness stabilising the racket head at ball impact thereby improving power.
Frame weight of 170g means that it actually has quite a bit of weight, however most of the weight is in the handle. I found that this made the Ultimate incredibly head light, fast and manoeuvrable through the air. The racket gave me great control on all my shots and is one of the best if not the best racket on the market for control.
The Ultimate racket feels secure and rigid due to the extra stiff frame and the circular handle makes it very nice to hold.
The stiffness of the frame did help to achieve good power, however when compared to some other rackets available it is not the most powerful.
A mainly black and white colour scheme with hints of luminous yellow makes the Ultimate look like the king of the Dunlop range.
This racket would suit players of a top club standard or those aspiring to be top club players. It is great for and anyone who has based their game on moving the ball around the court with precision
