The Wilson K RX 170 incorporates the following technologies to increase performance:
[K] Factor nanotechnology
The Wilson [K] Factor combines the next generation in nanotechnology and unique frame engineering innovations that results in the ultimate line of [K]ontrolled Power rackets for all players.
The [K] Zone is a combination of Turbo Tubes, providing increased torsional stability for crushing responsive power, and Power Holes, generating increased string bed travel for welting kill shots.
[K]ontour Frame with Kevlar Frame Armour
Asymmetrically enhanced [K]ontour Frame for improved torsional stability. Ballistic Kevlar Frame Armor reinforcements provide maximum stiffness and frame strength with a smooth responsive feel. Wilson racketball is taking the initiative in being more environmentally aware by changing the packaging and components on racketball products.
The RX 170 is the top of the range racketball racket from one of the first manufactures to become involved in racketball, Wilson. It looks great and feels very nice to hold with a good weighting. It hits a very solid and firm ball in general, but is not the best on the volley. It is very powerful but can vibrate sometimes when trying to hit very high power shots.
In the racket test I tried to fire in my drops and volley drops quickly and it took the ball in to the front very well, however trying to float a drop in proved more difficult. Counter drops are always tricky in racketball and unfortunately this racket is unlikely to help with those slower balls.
The RX 170 strengths lie in playing outstanding straight and cross court kills which I found to be particularly effective.
If you rely on counter attacking at the front of the court this racket is not for you but if you like to attack to the front with pace or counter attack from the back then this racket will work very well.
