Road to selection update 19/05/2026 - post Cambridge Open Peterborough!
After a busy Peterborough event on Saturday 12th May with lots of our selection hopefulls in action we have the updated RTS Rankings! With just TWO selection events remaining for this period, things are really hotting up in the battle for England Selection for September's London Teams event, and things are looking very tight at the top in all the categories, with each one having a variety of permutations to how it could close out...
Reminder that:
- You must play AT LEAST 4 events to qualify
- Best 5 total event finishes go toward your selection total
- In the event of a tie, head to head results will be taken
- Men's Open / 40s / 50s / 60s are 4 players per team
- Women's and O70s are 3 players per team

MEN'S OPEN TEAM
Harris & Jones already are uncatchable so can start sizing themselves up for the new England gear. However the last two selection spots are all very much up for grabs by the remaining field. Barring Jeal, all the remaining players are competing in at least one of the last two events of the period, meaning that they all have chances to better their ''Best 5 Results'' and hop above each other! With the remaining events offering a breakdown of 265 / 275 / 105 points respectively for winner / runner up / semi finalist slots, some changing of the guard could be yet to come!
WOMEN'S
Like the Men's Open, the top two are already sealed, with Kalar & Marshall set and ready to roll in their second consecutive year of England Team action. With the Women's teams being 3 players only, there is just one space left up for grabs, and three players definitely in contention for it! A late in the ranking period run by Pritchard with some really consistent performances in Sheffield & Peterborough has jumped her into contention, and with Bealey and Billington also both playing the remaining Series events, every single point they get will make a huge difference! Definitely going down to the wire here...
Over 40s
No real changes here as there was no O40s event in Peterborough. With Jenkins and Chappell unable to play in the September event however, this does leave Smith & Giles as stressfree route to selection as long as they turn up and play one the required last two events to get their name in the hat!
Over 50s
This is the big one!
The ''Battle Royale'' of our categories across the season, there are still so many different permutations that could play out here. The additional possibility of an England ''B Team'' in this age group too (depending on other countires final entries) means that there is the chance of more players getting involved.
As it stands, Hall, Smith and Speake all look safe enough after the three of them made up the top 3 in Peterborough on the weekend. Hall and Smith certainly looking like they have enough in the bank with their best 5. Speake and Billington do have to watch out for the name at the very bottom of the above list - Chris Morris - O50s National and British Open runner up, who is playing Cheltenham (last selection event) and who if he wins it, could leap up the list!
If the B Team does run, then this offers a buffer for the above who would definitely then move into that at the top end, and then opens up the chance for the likes of Wase, Dodds and Murray (all of whom are playing one or two of the last events) to put a last gasp push in for selection!
Can't wait to see the final outcome of all of this...

Over 60s
As before, the two top dogs - Osborn & Cordeaux are safely selected here and are uncatchable. The always colourful Yorkshireman Muirhead has had a brilliant selection period and some great wins and he looks very close to taking the 3rd spot in the England team. It is then very tight for that 4th spot with Chipperfield, Withey and Banfield all very much in the mix. But like the O50s, we have a rogue man at the bottom of the list - O65 National & Open Champion Davey, who is playing the last two comps in the period, and will therefore catapult up the list almost regardless of his finishing positions. So it will be a fight to the finish for those last two spaces...
Over 70s
Devon's Mitchell has has a brilliant Selection period and has very nearly maxxed out the possible best 5 selection results you can get! He is definitley in, but after that it is all to play for. Graham is unavailable for selection due to being away, leaving the last two team spots (3 player teams in O70s) up for grabs! Herbetko and Loska look good to sneak them but this age group has always thrown up curveballs across the season, so no hedging your bets!
There is a good chance that an England ''B Team'' will run in this category too, so the likes of Lathbury, Hudson-Oldnall and Firmin are also still very much in the mix for it all!

Road To Selection Update 5th Feb 2026
After a busy double header weekend with the Scottish Open and Trojans Satellite events there has been some interesting movement in the RTS standings!
With another huge weekend of East / West action coming up on the 7th Feb with the Silverhook sponsored Broxbourne Open and the brand new Rhiwbina Satellite in Cardiff, we are sure there will be plenty of shuffling around the pack next week.
REMEMBER THE RULES - You MUST have played at least 4 UK Racketball Series, Satellite or Major events in the ranking period, with your BEST 5 finishing positions going toward your final RTS total.
In the unlikely event of a tie, head to head results will be taken into account at selection.
The ranking period is from the 2025 British National Championships (inclusive) through to and including the final event - the Cheltenham Open in July 2026.
Check out where everyone stands below, a reminder of the team set ups here:
Men's Open - 4 players per team - Holders England
Ladies Open - 3 players per team - Holders England
O40 - 4 players per team - Holders England
O50 - 4 players per team - Holders England
O60 - 4 players per team - Holders England
O70 - 3 players per team - Holders England
There is a chance in a couple of the categories that we may field ''B Teams'' so there is very much all to play for even if you are slightly off the top 3/4 slots!
Good luck all!

A huge congratulations to those featured below for their selection in the first ever Racketball Home Internationals event. Their tournament and match play consistency over the past 12 months period has been admirable!
