home internationals 2024 - results & pictures
THE RESULTS ARE IN!
We have the first ever Racketball Home internationals champions confirmed! After two days of great matches and great company at one of the top clubs in the UK, the over 40s, 50s, 60s and 70s Racketball home Internationals Team titles have been decided:
O40s - England, Runners Up - Scotland
O50s - England, Runners Up - Jersey
O60s - Jersey, Runners Up - England
O70s - Scotland, Runners Up - England (Jersey were allowed to participate with a couple of “underage players” to help them fill out a team, so while they actually came second on paper, the result was void.)
More photos from the on site professional photographer will follow soon (including the presentations) but you can catch quite a few on the UK Racketball Facebook album already: FACEBOOK ALBUM
Congratulations to all the teams that took part, not just the winners, as this was a clear indication of the growth of the sport in the UK and how it is really starting to come together in some really positive ways. We are really hoping to build on this and have more teams from more nations in next year‘s event in Cardiff.
Some big thank you must go out to all of the team managers for helping to get their sides together and keep them organised through the event. To @newlandsltc for hosting us so welcomingly and being so accommodating by cutting on the Saturday night food and live music. To @mattbedwell20 who was in charge of running the event all weekend who did a fantastic job of keeping updates coming, matches moving and everything just flowing smoothly. I’m sure he will be looking forward to the other side of the coin next year as he is likely to be representing Scotland in the open category!
Finally, to the England team sponsors who provided the kit for the weekend, Intelligent OH, Morris & Co Property, @karakaluk and Choice Point Consulting. To @iprosports for another fantastic printing job on the shirts. And finally to the event and ball sponsors, @priceofbath who supported the event and the prizes really generously and also provided all of the balls for the matches.

🚨 It's Racketball Home Internationals Time! 🚨
It is finally here! This weekend at Newlands Squash and Tennis Club in Glasgow, the finest Racketballers from England, Wales, Scotland and Jersey will do battle representing their nations in the first ever Racketball Home International Team Championships!
With fame, fortune and bragging rights up for grabs for the Over 40s, 50s, 60s and 70s sides this should be a great weekend of Racketball action and we wish all the players good luck and some great matches.
Huge thanks must go to the following people for their hard work in making this a possibility:
Set Up:
- Keith Gristwood (of RASTA our Scottish RB Series buddies), Paul Duffy & David Evans (of Squash Wales) and Ian Furness (Jersey Squash & RB)
- Colin Cruickshank & Ian Graham (came up with the initial idea for an O60s & O70s Eng vs Sco test match which we soon expanded on)
- Matt Bedwell, Alan Pearson and the Newlands team for their willingness to host us and their hard work in gettign a fun Saturday night set up for all the players!
Sponsors:
- Price of Bath for sponsorsing the balls and the player medals for the event
- Karakal UK, Intelligent OH, Choice Point Consulting and Morris & Co for very kindly sponsoring the England team kit and making our guys look smart! (About time in some respects...)
We can't wait to see the action unfold and see who comes out on top as the inaugral Home Internationals Racketball Champions! With next year expanding to feature Men's & Ladies Open categories at the new Cardiff host venues, it is great time to be a Racketballer! Let's hope we get some more European nations involved too...

At the start of 2024 some of our Scottish and English Masters Racketball players got together at a competition and discussed the idea of an England vs Scotland Racketball team showdown. With the Scottish RASTA event Series going from strength to strength in recent years this seemed like a fantastic idea.
When Colin Cruickshank (Scotland) and Ian Graham (England) then came to us at UK Racketball with their proposal we saw it as an opportunity to really take Racketball forward in a positive way in the UK, and also hopefully across Europe too. So after some lengthy email chains and contact building we came up with the first ever Racketball Home Internationals team event for Over 40s, O50s, O60s and O70s age group categories! Featuring sides from Scotland, England, Wales and Jersey initially.
This first event will be hosted by one of our Series venues - Newlands LTSC in Glasgow and we can't wait to get the ball rolling.
With more nations keen to take part in the future and with Men's and Ladies Open categories looking to come into play as of 2025 this is a really positive turning point for the sport. Long may it continue!
