Main Tournament Details
Date: Saturday 18th June
Email from organiser Rennie Kapila with more details
Dear Racketballer,
As someone who has previously entered the Cambridgeshire Open or who has a connection with Peterborough racketball I am writing to let you know that this year’s competition will take place on Saturday 18th June.
This ensures there is no clash with the National, Regional or UK racketball series competitions. Places have to be limited, because as you know it is always a full day of racketball.
As a previous entrant I am giving you an early email and therefore you’ll have a few days head start before the rest of the promotion of the event gets under way. I have always aimed to offer a minimum of three games for everyone in the day. I like to see everyone play some close matches, and leave us tired but with a smile on the face from a good day’s competition. The Cambs Open in Peterborough has bronze status for the UK-Series, which means national ranking points are available.
The categories are A, B - black ball default, C - blue ball default, over 50’s and ladies.
This is the fourth year we have run the competition and it has always been over-subscribed so please don’t delay too long in sending an entry in if you fancy playing. It is a friendly tournament, but always keenly contested. I have attached an entry poster that highlights the information. Please read that and I would be grateful if you could put on your club’s noticeboard to help publicise the event, or email other players you know whether you are entering or not. The day can cope with up to 16 players per category, but no more. And as this is the start of the publicity you really do have the first opportunity to ensure an entry.
I have also attached an entry sheet but you can always send me an email with your personal details if that is easier:- Your full name email address (Mobile) phone number date of birth Home club Category to enter Confirmation of entry fee paid You can then either send me a cheque through the post payable to “Peterborough Town Sports Club” or arrange a BACS payment with your bank over the phone or via internet. All the details are on the poster. I hope to hear from you soon, and look forward to seeing you on the day if you enter or during the season if you choose not to.
Enjoy your sport whichever.
The previous years Roll of Honour is also attached, and maybe this is the year for you to add your name.
Best of luck. Kindest regards, Rennie Kapila Competition Organiser 07966 534425
