Why we have a FAQ's page
When questions regarding the running of the UK-Racketball Series are sent in to me I will include them on this page. Hopefully this will help players to understand why we run the events the way that we do.
It is through suggestions on how we could do things differently that we decided to include an Over 60's grade in 2012, decided to always give away a FREE T-SHIRT for every competitor in 2014 and to limit entries to only 60 players to help events run smoother in 2015.
Please let me know how you think we can make the events better. I won't always be able to do everything but will always do my best to make the events as good as I can for everyone! Mark - 07846 067505 - [email protected]

Manuel Costa 30.05.16
Hi, Mark,
It was great to see you again! And what a great recovery on your final, good job!
I know that some players protested about Miguel playing the B's but it was his first time and on 26 years old and not good enough for the A's where would you put him? I don't know about next time he plays, you decide!
If I can make a sugestion, why don't you make a playoff for the runner up's of the group stages? It's not only for me that travel many miles to play but I know that a lot of players come rom distant parts of your country and maybe feel a little distraught not to continue playing a couple games more. With venues happening in clubs with more than 4 or 5 courts you should consider this option. And with the limitation of 60 players there's no reason not to do it. For instance, in Limpsfield we could have had a round robin between me, Mark Banfield and Rob Watkins, and that would be thrilling! Maybe that copuld be arrange with some sort of small prize like winner gets a free beer! Sort of a Plate like in Squash!
Let me know what you think about it.
Cheers, mate!
Hi Manuel,
I am glad that you could make it across and I am pleased that you had another good days racketball.
I think it was fine for Miguel to play the B but next time he will have to play the A because he won the B if that makes sense. If he then competes in the A and does not make it through the groups he can drop down to the B again. I have that rule in place to keep everyone happy!
Regarding the extra matches with playoffs at the moment I don't think that this will work. The reasons for this is that usually after a player has lost I find that they don't often fancy having extra matches. I think that you are very fit and strong for your age and can understand that you would like more matches but this is a quote from Rob Watkins facebook yesterday "So can hardly move after a day of UK Racketball in London" I'm not sure that he could have managed anymore. Most of the time when I schedule in playoff matches or plates they don't get played because people leave.
One of the main reasons why we decided to limit the numbers to 60 was to make the day shorter. This was based on feedback from competitors as people said that the day was to long.
I hope this all makes sense, always try and do my best to keep everyone happy but not always possible.
You could always play two grades again? That would sort you out!
Kind regards
Mark
