A great evening with Mr Squash (Mike Harris) at New Street Station glass court promotion. Racketball proved to be really popular, a big wait to get on the court and a crowd all the way through.
The whole event at New Street Station will run from the 4th till the 11th of April with a aim to showcase squash with thousands of school children having a hit on court as well as taster sessions, exhibition matches and a chance to meet the pro’s playing in this weeks PSA event. Last nights Racketball began with a team match between four of the region’s biggest Racketball centres, Edgbaston Priory, Stourbridge, Wolverhampton and Leamington. Later on in the evening we had an open play session with members of the public coming on to have a hit! Mark Williams CEO of England Squash stated that “There’s 170,000 people coming to New Street everyday seeing this court. Most squash courts are hidden away in leisure centres or clubs,” he said. “It’s not a sport people see that often. So we wanted to put that right with this event.
